Rolling to Remember was a motorcycle demonstration ride in Washington, DC on May 29, 2022 to raise awareness of the issues facing American veterans and demand action for the 82,000 service members missing, as well as raise awareness of the 22 veterans who die by suicide each day. It is the successor to the Rolling Thunder rides which ended in 2019.
The soldier in the photo above stood at attention and saluted for the entire ride which lasted about an hour. After the last motorcycle passed, he had an understandable strong emotional reaction depicted in the final photograph.
The ride was not as large as it was in earlier years as Vietnam Veterans age, but still fitting and moving.
