Rhodes is Greece's fourth largest island and the largest of the Dodecanese islands. It is the ninth largest island in the overall Mediterranean sea. Administratively, the island forms a separate municipality within the Rhodes regional unit, which is part of the South Aegean administrative region. In 2022, the island had a population of 124,851 people. Rhodes is located northeast of Crete, southeast of Athens. The water surrounding Rhodes is gorgeous. The people are friendly. The island also has a lot of character.
The citadel of Rhodes (shown above) is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.
I saw a lot of peacocks and came across some very friendly folks.
